So on Wednesday 11th June, 2025, we were at Idoma Community Secondary school, Otobi, Akpa, in Otukpo, Benue State, Nigeria where we engaged and distributed free sanitary pads to over 108 girls in the community.
With our Project MHH, we engaged the girls to break the taboo concerning menstrual health and enlighten them on sound menstrual health and hygiene practices.
Several questions were asked with regards to adolescent reproductive health, menstrual cramps and Hygiene practices of which our facilitators were available to provide answers to. It was indeed an eye opening campaign as to what young girls go through in rural communities with regards to menstrual health.
